Who we are
Founded 1984, Asian American Federation of Florida (AAFF) is a 501(c)(3) coalition that aims to foster unity and collaboration among the various South Florida Asian Pacific American organizations and to improve the relationship of a culturally diverse Asian American community in Florida. The AAFF is a statewide organization made up of more than 70 Bangladesh, Burmese, Cambodian, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Iranian, Korean, Laotian, Taiwanese, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese faith-based and community-based organizations, businesses and media.
AAFF South Region is based in Miami-Dade County and comprised of 9 counties (Broward, Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, Lee, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Palm Beach). Build collaboration among the various Asian American organizations with strong commitment to civic engagement, community organizing and building power of underrepresented Asian communities. Ability to work in non-English speaking communities. Ability to speak one or more Asian languages especially Bengali, Burmese, Chinese in Cantonese and Mandarin, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Laos, Tagalog, Thai, Urdu, or Vietnamese.
What we do
Civic Engagement on Citizenship
In partnership with local community organizations, we support and empower all immigrants through citizenship application workshops to help verify their eligibility for citizenship, complete and file their citizenship applications for their path to become citizens.
Civic Engagement to Get Out the Vote | GOTV
We work to uplift AAPI voices and votes across Florida and the country by conducting non-partisan voter registration and mobilization. In addition, we Inform and sign up applicable voters to vote by mail or vote during an early voting period and inform voters about upcoming local, state, and national elections with Asian languages.
